You do not pay for coming to us to sign your Compromise Agreement. Your employer will pay our costs. The only costs which you may incur are for negotiating the terms of the agreement. We will provide a free 30 minute consultation in these cases.
What is a Compromise Agreement?
Compromise agreements contain the terms and conditions agreed by you and your employer on termination of your contract of employment. The agreement will include payment which will be made by the employer to in you in full and final settlement of claims as well other information such as references and clauses that you and the Employer must abide by.
When do I need to get legal advice?
We advise clients about their exit before a Compromise Agreement is presented. If you have been given a Compromise Agreement, please contact us straightaway as there will be a date by which the Compromise agreement must be signed if agreed.
What will we ask you to bring?
- The draft compromise agreement
- Contract of Employment and your offer letter
- Pay slip
- Details of any benefits e.g. health insurance
- All letters and emails sent and received about the Compromise Agreement
- Proof of identity e.g. passport or driving license
- Proof of residential address e.g. utility bill within the last 3 month
Do I need to come to the office?
We are able to advise you on the telephone and will discuss each of the clauses contained in the agreement. For a telephone meeting, we need to endure you have provided all of the documentation as above.
Do I need a solicitor?
Yes. The agreement contains an Advisor Certificate which a solicitor must complete for the agreement to be valid.
